Started in 2012 in the west of the town, where the game had never taken root and two million people were being raised on something else. Kevin Sheedy worked the frontier first, and the draft delivered the best kids in the country until the club became the competition's most reliable talent factory. Rivals kept shopping there. The production line never slowed. In 2019 an orange tide rolled all the way to the last Saturday in September. Youngest club in the competition. The west is patient.

Some clubs were given a heartland. This club was given a frontier.
