Founded in 1872 out of the inner-north Melbourne suburb that gave it the name. The "Baby Bombers" of 1993 - a team stacked with kids - won the flag in their first full season together. The 2000 side lost two games all year and is still talked about as one of the greatest teams to play the game. On-field, the reputation was always the same: skilful, fast, built to put on a show.

Some clubs were grinders. This club was theatre.
